Silver Award Who are the 2008 Silver Award Recipients? What is the Silver Award? Hmmm…Tell Me More. And don’t worry, there will be many people along the way to help in the journey. Remember the “Quest for Silver” is an individual choice! So, even if most girls in your group want to pursue the Silver, if you don’t want to, you can opt out. Once all the work on the Silver Award is complete, you complete and submit the Silver Award Report Form. This form will be reviewed by the Teen Services Manager. If there are any problems or concerns, you’ll be contacted. Otherwise, you will receive a letter of congratulations and a Pin Purchase Certificate to use at the council store. This process may take 3-6 weeks, so please be patient. Ok, Ok….But What About the Project? It is strongly encouraged, although not required, that Silver Award projects reach beyond the Girl Scout Community. Good Silver Awards projects should go way beyond drives for food, cans, clothing, etc. Think Big! Are There Deadlines? How Do I Get More Information? Better yet, attend the Silver Award Orientation (optional, but strongly encouraged). 6th graders are welcome. The cost is $2.00 per person and girls must attend with an adult (only one adult needs to attend with a group). Regardless of how you get the info, be sure that you have the most up-to-date information and report forms. You’ll also need to purchase the “Go For It! Silver Award Insert” from the council store. ![]() |
